Tuesday, Eddie Ranchigoda, marketing product manager for Half-Life at Sierra, made it known that "There will be a playable demo (including deathmatch) available in mid October. This will be a 10MB downloadable file available on Sierra's site. We will also make it immediately available for posts on commercial sites such as GameSpot and fan sites."

Here at GameSpot we've seen an early version of Half-Life and we were mightily impressed by how much the crew at Valve has enhanced the AI, the graphics, and the all-around playability of the Quake engine.

Half-Life is bound to make some thunder when it's released. Until then, fingernails are going to get a lot smaller around here.
