Guild Wars hits 3 million mark

While Blizzard Entertainment gets the lion's share of attention in the world of massively multiplayer online role-playing games, it isn't the only game in town. ArenaNet and NCsoft provided a reminder of that today when they announced that worldwide sales of the subscription-free MMORPG Guild Wars and its two stand-alone expansions, Factions and Nightfall, have collectively surpassed the 3 million mark. Guild Wars debuted in April of 2005, Factions went on sale this April, and Nightfall followed in October.
