Guardians Of The Galaxy PC Requires 150GB Free Space

The system requirements on Steam show a download size comparable to Call of Duty Warzone

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will require a hefty amount of storage on PC. [Update: It turns out the situation isn't so extreme as we first thought, as Guardians of the Galaxy only requires 80GB.]

As Video Game Chronicle noted, system requirements for the Square Enix title were released on Steam. The game requires 150 GB of free space. As a point of comparison, Call of Duty: Warzone takes up 175 GB, Microsoft Flight Simulator is also 150 GB, and Marvel's Avengers, the brand's other flagship video game, recommends an install size of 110 GB.

Now Playing: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - Launch Trailer

In short, this is a sizable install, comparable to some of the largest games of recent years. It is, of course, difficult to deduce from this information any concrete details of the game itself. What it does mean though, is that the next generation is here. Higher quality textures and higher resolutions have a cost, both in computing power and file size.

The full system requirements are below.

Minimum:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows® 10 64 bit Build 1803
    • Processor: AMD Ryzenâ„¢ 5 1400 / Intel® Coreâ„¢ i5-4460
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 / AMD Radeonâ„¢ RX 570
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 150 GB available space

Recommended:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows® 10 64 bit Build 1803
    • Processor: AMD Ryzenâ„¢ 5 1600 / Intel® Coreâ„¢ i7-4790
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Super / AMD Radeonâ„¢ RX 590
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 150 GB available space

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy releases on October 26th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4 and 5, PC, as well as a cloud version for Switch.

@Barighm: That's what they said at first about the Avengers game. You know how that turned out.

Definitely gonna wait for reviews but the previews made it sound more fun than I anticipated. And based on the install it might also be larger in scope than I would have thought. If the story, gameplay, and graphics are all actually a polished product it might turn out to be a pretty decent game at least.
