GTAIV rolling out April 29

tons of developers report having problems developing for the ps3... its not that its a crappy system (its actually more powerful than the 360), its just that its hard to develop for... how many games have come out for the ps3 first and then the 360? none. i understand that rockstar wants to release them at the same time, but it is obvious that the ps3 is the sole reason behind the delay (other than issues that they are having with both versions)

It would not make sense that the 360 would cause a delay because starting from day one of development, Rockstar already planned for multiplatform so they already knew that they would have to work with BD and DVD. Officially, Rockstar hasn't said anything so where are you getting your sources? Let me guess - you have a cousin that works at Rockstar.

I guess I'll go pre-order it now. Should be great. I don't think it will be delayed any longer. They will have had a whole 6 months to polish it up since October. Something to break up all these shooters I have been playing for a while now (Portal, halo3, and call of duty 4)

Lets all just wait and see if this is the true release date. I don't think it is...not that I'm complaining, delays just gives Rockstar more time to make it better.

wow....the ps3 the cause of the delay??????hm last time i checked blue ray is bigger than what ms uses........im sure rockstar had a bigggggggggg problem fitting the game on the dvd-9............if the ps3 and xbx had diff versions.....the ps3 version would be 5x bigger..........and u xbx fans wouldnt have the same fun we would have......btw i had a xbx360 until the rings of death.....halo was a let down and i dont even c any point of having a ps3 this year besides gta.....

until the game goes gold, then i'll beleive its coming out on april 29th, and for jay ps3 owners arent the only ones that has been waiting for it, ive been waiting for it ever since gta4 was a rumour. Yet I am undecided for whihc platform i'll get it for, imma wait for the review to reveal if any version has a flaw, ie assasins creed x360 was better than ps3's due to fps drop. Gta will beat halo3 becuase it has many fans and its for more than one platform.

CaseyPayne69, MGS4 may be more important, but Killzone 2 doesn't even compare. C'mon now. GTA is one of the biggest video game franchises of all time. Easily one of the most popular games. GTA4 is multiplat, it will outsell Halo 3 and MGS4. Personally, GTA4 is probably my most anticipated title this year.

Now all I need is a PS3 to play it on. I wish I had one, but I don't have the money right now. I'd settle for an 360 as well, anything to play this game.

Time flies....There I was watching the trailers of the first ever gameplay, and now BOOM a release date! I am really excited about the new features they are adding.

Actually natethemighty, if I recall correctly it wasn't so much the DVD size limit that was the issue with this game, it was making it so that it didn't have to use the Hard Drive on the 360.

I usually don't like GTA games, but this one actually caught my interest. If it gets good reviews (which I'm expecting it will) it looks like I'll be even more broke than I already am.

This game should easily outsell Halo 3 just on a gameplay standpoint alone. Halo 3 was waaaaaay overrated.

Analysts say that GTA IV has the potential to outsell Halo 3. On the 360 alone, it doesn't have a chance. But with the 360 and PS3 together, it might, but it is still a loooong shot.

Nice to have an official release date. :) Not too long now till we get our hands on the GOTY.
