Microsoft hasn't been dallying about bringing some of the top games from the current console generation to its Games on Demand service through Xbox Live. Currently, Xbox 360 gamers can purchase digital copies of such top-rated titles as Assassin's Creed, BioShock, Mass Effect, Burnout Paradise, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. That list is poised to grow in October, as Microsoft has announced eight more full retail games that will be offered through its download service.

This past Tuesday, Call of Duty 3 and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 joined the Games on Demand lineup, both carrying a $29.99 price tag. Next Tuesday, Rockstar Games' top-rated (not to mention top-selling) action adventure Grand Theft Auto IV arrives. Rockstar will return on October 20 with its street racer Midnight Club Los Angeles, as Electronic Arts offers up Army of Two and Sega delivers Sonic Unleashed.

Electronic Arts will close the month on October 27 with Dead Space, its well-received survival horror shooter developed by Visceral Games. Dead Space will find company that week in Codemasters' Dirt, an off-road racer formerly titled Colin McRae Rally.

Microsoft did not indicate how much the upcoming new additions will cost and had not responded to requests for comment as of press time. However, the current Games on Demand roster ranges in price from $19.99 to $29.99.

Better off with a disc, i prefer something physical than digital, less risky too. Also if u purchase physically, u get to smell the box and rub the disc against ur face.

I don't understand. How or why is a game that I can walk into Gamestop and get for $10 or less, $30 on games on demand?? God I'll drive the 5 mins . You're cutting out all the production aspect of the games so you know they aren't still being put out, so why not drop the price, especially when a perfectly good used game is $10. God I just looked at prices on line and you can buy a new game, have it shipped and it still is cheaper. wtf Microsoft, looking at you to Sony with full price PSP games online.

xZeppelin18x and what if your game gets scratched or missplaced by some idiot in your house you invited over or stolen as well. Everything has ups and downs. Its for the end user to decide which is more suitable for them.

I think the whole digital idea is dumb, sure its not in disk form, so it wont scrach, but what if u want to sell it, or your gamertag gets modded or taken from you? Then u just lost a game along with your $50 acc. If you want a game then physically buy it, or your risking a lot!!!

I downloaded Oblivion and love it. As far as the other games, bleh.. Not too interested in them since I have most of them already. But I do like games on demands. Hopefully they put out more titles.

im likin it, and to tell you the truth, my only gripe is about the prices. im glad they have brought down some games which were released AT LAUNCH down to 19.99, and gta4 for 30 bucks is shelf price, so if they keep the digital prices the same(or a few bucks off) the physical copy, i say kudos to em

They need to adjust the prices. The fact that I can get actual physical copies of games cheaper means I will never use Games on Demand. I can't understand why anyone would use this service the way it is.

Well, if Dead Space isn't $20, don't buy it... and heck, might as well go get it off the shelf so you don't have to worry about DRM rights...

To hell with that GTA IV is coming to GOD, MS needs to make a serious pricecut on those titles if they are going to hope to ever make a profit
