GTA, Red Dead Parent Publisher "Intrigued and Excited" by Nintendo Switch

"We're very optimistic."

Speaking today at an investor meeting, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff discussed his company's approach to supporting Nintendo's Switch console. While he did not get into specifics (that's being saved for later), Slatoff said Take-Two, which operates Rockstar Games and 2K Games, is optimistic about the system's potential. At the same time, the executive said the level at which Take-Two supports the Switch will come down to how many systems are sold.

"With any new hardware, there is always an element of 'wait and see,' and the install base is going to drive a lot [of Take-Two's level of support]. We're very intrigued and excited about it," he said during the Credit Suisse Technology, Media, and Telecom conference. "The Nintendo folks I think are making a great effort to reach out to third-party developers, which I think is fantastic."

Take-Two is among the dozens of partners for Switch that Nintendo announced during the console's reveal event in October. The system's announcement video contained footage of an NBA 2K game, though publisher 2K Sports told Polygon that it hasn't committed to releasing an NBA 2K game on the console just yet. Similarly, Bethesda hasn't confirmed plans to bring Skyrim to the console despite being shown during the same montage.

While Take-Two's plans for Switch are being kept under wraps for now, Slatoff repeated that the company has a positive outlook about the console. "I would say we're very optimistic and they're good partners," he said about Nintendo. "We're excited to work with them in the future on it."

Other high-profile Switch publishing partners include Electronic Arts (which is bringing one of its "big" games to Switch), Activision, Bethesda, Capcom, Ubisoft. You can see all the confirmed partners here.

Switch goes on sale in March 2017. The next time we'll hear more official details on the console is January 2017, which is when Nintendo will announce the console's price, specs, and launch lineup.

Yes, this is a company that definitively should release games for the system. Think games like gta or red dead redemption would work really well on the system as not many games like that have been released in recent years my guess their would be a hunger for them.
But yeah Take-Two have alot of other great games in their library to. I personally would like to see a modern aproach on spy vs spy (but that is probably just me as that game is pretty old now and meaby not a lot of people remember it, would still probably be a great game whit a decent budget). And yeah even if they wouldn't want to do something meaby they could sell it to Nintendo, they could probably do great things whit the series.
But yeah, got a little of track there. :)
Borderlands and bioshock would be great to, any sports game they have etc. Oh yeah, and the sid meyers series could work to as the system likely will have some sort of motion control support.

Right now they are excited about ideas such as, "What if we make a game you can only play on your TV with the base game, then sell DLC that lets you play it while walking around outside, "

Even though it's sold 70 million, GTA 5 on Switch would be a boon for the system.

I am very excited for Nintendo Switch! I´m looking forward to it! :)

I want to play Dark Souls on Switch and other cool games on the go. Switch will be an awesome/advanced peace of tecnology powered by Nvidia.

Lol, here we go again... Another article of a dev/publisher proclaiming their love for Nintendo and interest in Switch. Sounds like there's a bit of PR panic control going on by Nintendo trying to show they still have 3rd party support.

Does Nintendo's terrible launch track record not concern these software companies or are they just hedging their bets? If the Switch releases like the Classic NES or recent 3DS, it will take 3 years to reach a 2mil install base.

@inkman66: It concerns them, which is why they blatantly say they're going to wait and see. Not good news for Nintendo.

A decent Rockstar game, with a good IP would help ship a load of Switches.

It worked for the PSP and the GTA stories games.

@LPDisturbedHU: Nintendo's digital distribution ecosystem is amateur hour, no one wants anything to do with it.

Remember, they were selling Wii Us that had 8 GB of hard drive space, where the system OS updates took over half the space. Digital distribution, lol.

@Thanatos2k: Hey, I can be optimistic, right?

The Switch is hopefully Nintendo taking console gaming more seriously again, but who knows.-.-

@LPDisturbedHU: I'm gonna say the fact that the Switch isn't even a console shows they're not taking console gaming more seriously.
