ok.... I need to speak my mind regarding the mobile gaming hate...

First of all I am a hardcore gamer.... I've been gaming ever since the Famicom days. Yes, mainstream mobile gaming is crap and who ever plays Candy Crush/Angry Birds/Whatever Farming game is not considered a gamer, but mobile gaming is not just that. That's like saying all hardcore gamers just play cod, eat Doritos and drink Mountain Dew.

Mobile gaming is far more than IAP causal crap... Doom 3 was ported to Android (not the BFG edition exclusive to Shield) that almost any phone newer than 2013 can play. Hating on touch controls? plug in a joystick/mouse+keyboard, wired and wireless. You have Dosbox and hundreds of emulators you can play on touch or joystick (For Android at least). You also have Unreal Engine support, imagine the possibilities!!!!

Take MKX mobile..... Now, is it anything like the console versions? of course not. Combos and specials are just taps gestures and it takes some grinding to get the good stuff without IAP. But it is not bad by any means. It's not there to replace the console versions, it's more like a companion. While it may look simplistic it's actually more strategic when assigning teams and leveling abilities and passives that can help your team.

And until you can play MKX on your PS4/Xbox One while in the bus/subway/classroom (yes lectures can be boring too =P), no need for such hate. The mobile version is actually great, and the graphics are pretty epic for a handheld.

So yeah sorry for the rant but I had to say something xD

@Silverline62: To be fair, you don't have to play it with a touchscreen.

Any Bluetooth controller will work fine, but you might need to be a little nifty to get them all working on iOS.

@Silverline62: You could have a portable battery plugged into the other end, they're only like $20 these days.

@naryanrobinson: I do have that as well but the iphone overheats like a fiery ***hole if I play something while the battery is plugged.

I'd get this if it came out on the 3DS. I bought GTA3 on Android and regretted it ever since.

@wendopolis_bruh: The controls. Everything about the controls were an affront to game design. Both the awful controls of the classic GTA games (those controls have not aged well) stacked with the awful controls of touchscreen and motion controls made the game unplayable without a separate controller. The menu was small as f*** and you had to scroll one by one by tapping the next menu item instead of rolling it. Before an update that fixed it, motion controls for steering had the "center" with your phone in portrait orientation. I mean how inept do you have to be to program that? The game wasn't optimized for touch gaming, only the buttons were displayed on screen. Games that do it right change the way the game works a little, adding swipe controls directly on the action rather than just emulate buttons on an already crowded screen. The developers cannot be trusted IMHO.

1.) Screw iOS
2.) Screw Android
3.) Screw Mobile gaming.

I'm surprised they aren't releasing this for PC at all, Liberty & Vice City Stories are literally the only one's NOT on PC. It's weird.

I guess I have my ps2 versions to fall back on if I want to play severely outdated GTA spin-off titles. lol

@freedom01: Distractions like Angry Birds & Fruit Ninja don't deserve to be called games in the same vein as GTA, Mario, & other actual experiences.

They are inevitably very shallow and stupid.

Fun while you are on the shitter, but otherwise, worthless.
