According to Variety, Ogg was one of three actors to be promoted to series regular for the upcoming eighth season. Ogg plays Negan's right-hand man, Simon, and is a member of the Savior group. The Walking Dead Season 8 will apparently focus on the war between the Saviors, led by Negan, and Rick's alliance. The promotion of all three suggests they have play larger roles in the upcoming season.

Ogg is no stranger to TV; he also had roles in Better Call Saul and Westworld.

Season 8 is expected to air in late 2017, though an official premiere date has not been announced. Season 7 wrapped up earlier this month. There was a lot of buzz and controversy around the premiere, which saw Negan brutally murder (mouse over to reveal) Glenn and Abraham.
