Rockstar also confirmed that there are "Premium Races," in which you will race against seven opponents. Prize payouts for these races are bigger than any other race, Rockstar said.

"And while there may not be any GTA$ for second place, all competitors are rewarded with Triple RP for completing a Premium Race," the developer explained. "To keep the competition sharp and balanced among the racing elite, Premium Races are locked to a specific vehicle or vehicle class and all competitors are required to own the vehicle or a vehicle within the set class. "

These races are only available for a limited now, running now through Monday, July 18. You can participate by finding the yellow Premium Race blip at Legion Square and paying your entry fee. Here is a rundown of the Premium Races:

What's more, Rockstar said it plans to deliver more Stunt Races and vehicles "over the next three weeks." At the end of this, on August 2, Rockstar will add the Stunt Race Creator, which will let players make their own races. There will be "hundreds" of props to use to help you make the "most outrageous stunt tracks of [your] dreams."

GTA Online's newest free update has arrived.

Rockstar Games today launched Cunning Stunts, one of the wilder updates to Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer mode to date. As announced previously, this introduces a Trackmania-style stunt mode where you can participate in races high above the streets of Los Santos.

Featured in the update are new Stunt Races, which look pretty wild. These involve players racing through loops and tubes, or zipping off ramps with superspeed thanks to boosts. Players can also drive through massive rings of fire on the courses.

"The jumps, gaps, terrain, and obstacles in each Race are tailored to match the attributes of specific vehicle classes, including new Super cars, Sports cars and Motorbikes," Rockstar explained. "And of course, racing livery-clad vehicles deserve appropriately tatted and dressed drivers, sporting new motocross gear, racing suits, helmets and a host of other additions."

Cunning Stunts is one of the "massive, feature-rich" updates for GTA Online that Rockstar announced in May. Another was Further Adventures in Finance and Felony, which came out in June.

In other news about GTA Online, documents in the Leslie Benzies vs. Take-Two lawsuit revealed that the multiplayer mode has already brought in more than $500 million in revenue from microtransactions.

Single-player DLC for GTA V is still under consideration, but the big numbers for GTA Online may explain why Rockstar appears to be prioritizing multiplayer content at this time.
