GTA 5's Major Import/Export Free Expansion Out Now, Watch the Launch Trailer

The next expansion for GTA Online has arrived.

The Import/Export expansion for GTA V's multiplayer mode, GTA Online, is out now, Rockstar Games announced today. The developer also published a launch trailer--check it out below.

As announced previously, Import/Export is all about stealing cars and further fleshing out your criminal enterprise beyond the Further Adventures in Finance and Felony add-on.

The Import/Export expansion also adds a new Executive Garage where you can store up to 60 vehicles that you've acquired by unlawful means. As a boss, the members of your Organization will be tipped off to cars they can steal--here's what the map of this looks like:

"A range of buyers are always ready to shell out for your newly acquired inventory," reads a line from the expansion's description. "Use the Ad-Hawk Autos network from your Vehicle Warehouse to connect with buyers and deliver the goods. Private buyers are straightforward and will accept vehicles at stock spec but if you want to increase your margins, appeal to Showroom and Specialist Dealers who are seeking modded vehicles and are willing to pay extra for them."

As you steal more vehicles, you'll unlock missions where you can boost "Special" vehicles. As you'd expect, these missions won't be so easy.

These "co-op based efforts ... will require your Organization to deal with a range of SecuroServ operations and plenty of vehicular mayhem," Rockstar said. "Completing Special Vehicle missions opens up the ability to purchase these vehicles at a special SecuroServ trade price, and owning specific Special Vehicles also unlocks new VIP Work. These unique modes of transportation range from the armed and the armored, to the amphibious and the airborne, and will all be stored in the lower level of your Vehicle Warehouse."

There are eight new Special vehicles available (see the full list below), while two new Super-class cars (the Pegassi Tempesta and Ocelot Penetrator) are added with this update. Additionally, new upgrades including the Principe Diablous Custom and Annis Elegy Retro Custom are available.

Import/Export Special Vehicles

  • BF Ramp Buggy
  • JoBuilt Phantom Edge
  • Karin Technical Aqua
  • Nagasaki Blazer Aqua
  • Brute Armored Boxville
  • MTL Wastelander
  • Imponte Ruiner 2000
  • Coil Rocket Voltic

What's more, a new Adversary mode called Turf Wars comes to GTA Online with the Import/Export update. Here is the official description:

"Two to four teams strap themselves into a range of speedy vehicles and compete to control tiles. Drive over each tile to claim it with your team's color while defending your turf from your foes, all while picking up strategically-located rockets in this new vehicular-themed Adversary Mode."

You can earn double RP and GTA$ in Turf Wars.

Additionally, the Import/Export update allows players to customize their character's appearance in a major way, it sounds like. "You've changed your clothes, your tats, your hair, your car, your friends--but you've still got that nagging sense of dissatisfaction. Now with Import/Export, you'll be able to change your character's appearance by giving yourself the mother of all makeovers…" Rockstar teased.

This update also adds new Stunt props to the Rockstar Editor's Director mode, while the ability to form a party and join a GTA Online session together has been added on PS4.

Further still, Rockstar announced a big sale on a number of items. Now until December 19, there will be discounts on bullet-proof tires, car armor, body armor, and all ammo. Additionally, the SuperVolito and SuperVolito carbon helicopters are discounted by 25 percent.

Import/Export, like all of GTA Online's other add-ons, is completely free. It's available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Is it really that hard for Rockstar to do a simple single player dlc? All this free crap could have easily been put in the single player experience. I saw that Target has the game for $30 and honestly, it's still not cheap enough.

@titankiller1: can a company stop thinking about revenue (micortransactions) and think more about fans like me that don't want to even pay $30 for the game..this is all I read with your post

Avatar image for saturatedbutter

@titankiller1: They make more money by supporting the online than they ever would from an expansion. The microtransactions deliver them ridiculous amounts of revenue.

Dang, it's all about being Fast & Furious in this 1.

Oh my God! Look at all this free content! Enough already! Boo hoo hoo!

Like many of you I also am disappointed in the amount of time spent on GTA Online and not a single DLC, not ONE?!

But I tried the new Online Car thing, and it is actually quite fun.

It may be cause I'm riding around in my own "Knight Rider" and there is nothing funnier then seeing someone chasing you around and when they go over a cliff chasing you, and you pull your Car Parachute which is only available in KITT. Good times!!

Are all these cars (and content) available for the Single Player mode as well?

No, unfortunately!

They should split off GTA V Online into its own game and delete all the tons of space wasted on my HDD with useless online pieces.

I've never played online nor will ever play it. Rockstar is just annoying at this point making online pieces and gamers are buying the stupid useless shark cards and making them lots more money.

However, there's still lots of money in GTA V single player

I just hope GTA VI isn't online only - else GTA V will be the last GTA for me and that will be sad.

All these GTA online updates just waste my hard drive space. Give us single player DLC.

Avatar image for ncorvelli

@Eric_Drav3n: Than upgrade your shit lol.. its not that hard to do. as soon as i got my ps4 i bought a 1.5 TB HD and never have to worry about space again.

Avatar image for depman1972

Seriously never got any single player add ons, just all this multiplayer rubbish, I had to delete gta off my system because it kept adding more data.

Talk about milk it.

just get on with gta6 already.

Avatar image for charlieholmes

Good god, they're milking the death out of this game for online only! I see only young kids playing this still and begging their parents to buy more Shark Cards!

Where's the Single Player content Rockstar?

Avatar image for ncorvelli

@charlieholmes: theyre saving it all for red dead redemption 2. im so fucking excited for it. i almost lost my shit when they announced it.

Lots of the MP DLC is pointless imo. Grinding for new cars? No thanks.

Avatar image for ncorvelli

@slappy54: its like their version of "Gone in 60 seconds"

Avatar image for heydink

Cmon Rockstar give us Pro support, is totally return and throw a few bucks at the in-game economy

Avatar image for barcaazul

It's amazing how they have reinvented the online in this game several times.

I'm personally a single player and would have love some single player DLC, but I don't think anyone could have imagined this would still be going strong this long afterwards.

Avatar image for PS2fweak

@barcaazul: Shark Cards make them a lot of money, so I think a lot of people could imagine a business continuing to go after the easy profits.

Anyways, they're not really reinventing the online. They just keep updating with small additions that could work in that world. Not much depth and it's focused on stuff that requires a lot of in-game money. It's pretty brilliant. If you don't want to or don't have the time to work for it, you can buy Shark Cards. I give them credit on a business level, but not as game developers. They're milking a game from 2013.

Avatar image for ncorvelli

@PS2fweak: Raise your hand if you're a derp. Nobody is making you buy shark cards lmao.

Avatar image for Warlord_Irochi

@ncorvelli: And he didn't said that; he made in fact a good point on why the monetization they are using is not very invasive. For Calling somebody "a derp" you sure had problems reading his comment.

Avatar image for ncorvelli

@Warlord_Irochi: I actually didnt even see the second half lmfao. I was on my phone.. my bad. You're right. Sorry @PS2fweak

Avatar image for Warlord_Irochi

@ncorvelli: Oh, I see...
I don't watch this web on my phone. Something is wrong on how it paginates the text. :(

Avatar image for Sw1tched

@PS2fweak: Don't give Rockstar credit as game developers ... holy hell.

Avatar image for doomsday7teen

Damn updates gonna ruin my mods temporarily.

Avatar image for thageorgian

Lmao whodafuq still plays this. Story DLC or keep gathering dust.

Avatar image for Warlord_Irochi

@thageorgian: Nobody. That is why they keep releasing free stuff; because nobody plays it.
Logic 101

Avatar image for thageorgian

@Warlord_Irochi: thing is they've been releasing "free stuff" since the game came out when everybody played it. so your logic is flawed in this case.

Avatar image for Warlord_Irochi

@thageorgian: Read again my post and notice the "keep" word. Companies go producing more content for a game when this one returns profit. That's were my logic is and it's far less flawed that suggesting that nobody plays this anymore even though the evidence (content + all those youtube videos) say the opposite.

Another thing is that you don't like the game and want to believe the opposite. But that's a totally different topic :)

@dontkillme: Please don't assume my gender guy. I'm a gender fluid mollusk. Fig

Avatar image for Warlord_Irochi

@o3i1rocks: I assume your maturity and writing skills. Once that is done, your gender makes little difference.
