Great Scott! Hasbro Is Making A Back To The Future Transformer, And It Looks Awesome

35 years ago, one of the most memorable sci-fi movies of the '80s was released: Back to the Future. To celebrate more than three decades of people yelling "1.21 Gigawatts," Hasbro is having the iconic car from the film--the DeLoreon--become a Transformer because why not?

The latest Autobot in disguise is named Gigawatt--because of course it is. In robot mode, it stands at 5.5 inches and transforms from robot to car in 17 steps. Check out the photos of the new Transformer and its packaging below.

The Gigawatt toy will be available for pre-order on Walmart very soon. There will only be 1,985 of them made--which is the year Back to the Future was released. On October 1, 2020, a variant of the Transformer will be available through Hasbro Pulse.

In addition, comic book publisher IDW is producing a four-part Transformers/Back to the Future series. "Marty McFly has just returned to his home sweet home, Hill Valley 1985, and everything's looking up... that is, until Marty and his friend Doc Brown's time machine attracts the attention of the Decepticons," states the official synopsis. "With one small mistake, Marty finds himself thrust into adventure to stop the Decepticon plot in the past, present, and future... all with the help of a new time machine: the Autobot, Gigawatt!"
