Gran Turismo Sport E3 Trailer Shows Off Gorgeous Racing Gameplay

See the game in action along with some of the game's new features.

Sony has released a new gameplay trailer for Gran Turismo Sport, its upcoming PS4 racer, ahead of E3 next week.

The video initially focuses on showing clips of cars racing and the different environments in which this action takes place. It then dives into some of the game's other features, including its social component, which lets you show off your progress through what amounts to a Gran Turismo social network. You can add friends, comment on each other's photos, and so on.

The video also shows off the level of customization you can expect, as a car is quickly outfitted with a series of decals and numbers. We then get a look at GT Sport Live, the game's spectator/streaming feature.

Later in the video, a new Photo Scapes mode is demoed. This isn't a standard Photo mode that merely allows you to take better screenshots; this lets you physically place cars in different environments and then apply filters, tweak exposure, and so on.

Sport launches for PS4 on November 15. A previously planned beta has been canceled, and the full game won't offer dynamic time or weather. For more, check out our impressions of the game.

That looks really good! If they add actual commentary like that in the game like they did with the Live feature, then I'm sold on this game!

Looks great. I understand handling/physics are taken over from GT6, which I'm happy with. Major difference between GT5 and GT6 - something that many who decided not to go for GT6 (due to no visual improvements) failed to experience - were new physics, which made all the difference for me back in the days. Got both, played GT5 quite a bit, played GT6 all the way through - and it still is my favourite handling in any game I have played so far, on any platform. I'd dare say that testing and tuning new physics engine might have been - should have been - one of major secret agendas PD had in releasing GT6 at all.

I'm not saying it is the best, but it did felt best to me overall.

Good damage model would be nice to see in GT:S, but if they can't do it, I'd rather have no damage than some crappy, unrealistic, half-baked damage model without proper consistency.

Environments look much better over last gen GTs. Premium cars were already good, but overall GT:S pushed cars look further, maybe more due to better lightning and shadows than car models themselves - either way, improvements look consistent all over.

Im super down to try this game, but I'm holding back my expectations like usual. The audio and feel of cars in GT is usually non existent. every car sounds like the same hoover vacuum cleaner. Ill definitely have to rent this

@boaconstricta: GT is literally playing catch up with the biggest games in the genre, and still has a couple features to go if it'll ever return to the marquee status it once had. It's to everyone's benefit they stop ignoring the competition. Reading the comments you're hard pressed to find any excitement beyond cautious optimism.

It certainly is pretty and it looks to have even more modes than the last GT game but so far it has failed to show me anything that it does differently to stand apart from the current slate of racing games from this generation. I even heard some old SFX from previous GT games in this video.

@ebonyflame: VR support. "Cockpit" type games are a perfect fit for initial VR. After playing Eve Valkyrie, if it isn't VR it doesn't interest me. I feel like I'm stuck in an endless loop of playing the same games with the same tired old mechanics. VR is the only way ahead for me. If it dies, I will stop gaming completely.

@Baconstrip78: VR support is not something that wows me just yet. Sure it will be different from the regular way we play racing games but the previews I have seen for the game so far minus the VR support that obviously cannot be properly advertised, just does not impress me.

@ebonyflame: If you haven't experienced it yet, you need to. No 2D video is going to capture the effect, so in that respect you are 100% correct in that it cannot be properly advertised. I used to think it was basically a screen attached to each eye, but once I tried it I realized how wrong I had been. The effect is something I have never felt before.
