Grab This Game for Free on Steam Right Now

Claim your free copy of Limbo by June 22.

Steam often has free weekend events where players can try out a game for free over the course of a few days. It's not typically used to outright give games away, but that's the case right now with Limbo.

Much as it did recently on Xbox One, Playdead is giving away Limbo through Steam. This is the full game you can add to your account and keep forever, no strings attached. You can claim it by heading to Steam either today, June 21, or tomorrow, June 22.

No Caption Provided

This freebie comes just prior to the release of Playdead's new game, Inside. It's set for launch on Xbox One on June 29, with a PC release coming on July 7. Much like Limbo, it's an atmospheric platformer starring a young boy, albeit one that's arguably a bit less visually distinctive--which is no slight, given Limbo is one of the most memorable-looking games ever.

You said we could get it today, but it's showing full price. I think you goofed.

@DrunkenPunk800: I've seen one site say that it ends 1PM EDT today. Still though, they could've made it free for about a week. I remember Portal being free for about 2 weeks on STEAM, and it's yours to keep forever. I believe this is where Origin has Steam beat (the length of time a free game is up for grabs), and that's saying something.

Even though I have this on Xbox One, has anyone tried to download this on Steam? It shows it as the regular price of $9.99. I want to play this on my laptop when I'm traveling. Not sure if it was only a 1-day thing.

It's an incredibly short, mediocre game, but if you can get it without being conned out of your money, you may as well.
