Harmonix has a full slate of new downloadable content for its Rock Band platform on tap for next week, spanning modern infusion rock from the Gorillaz to classic riffs from Janis Joplin, The Who, and Jefferson Airplane. Classic rockers who own an Xbox 360 or PS3 can add two legendary tunes to their catalogs next week: Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart" (from her original band Big Brother and the Holding Company) and The Who's "Magic Bus" off the band's acclaimed Live at Leeds album. The Band will also lend a live performance of "Chest Fever" to the Rock Band lineup next week, with Jefferson Airplane rounding out the classic selection with "White Rabbit." Playable songs run $1.99 (MSP 160) a piece.

As for newer material, Harmonix will be releasing a three-pack from the genre-bending collaborative Gorillaz. Often labeled a virtual band due to the animated personas of the Gorillaz members, the band will lend three tracks from its eponymous debut album: "Clint Eastwood," "Feel Good Inc.," and "Re-Hash." All three Gorillaz songs can be purchased together for $5.49 (MSP 440) or individually for $1.99 (MSP 160).

Harmonix will also be updating the Wii's Rock Band catalog with 25 songs previously released for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Bands party to the latest update include Blink-182, KISS, Steve Miller Band, Thin Lizzy, and Weezer. Songs available for the Wii are only available for individual purchase and cost 200 Wii points or $2. A full list of this week's releases can be found below.

Lastly, Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP will be throwing up the horns with two new songs added to its in-game store next week. Iron Maiden's "The Number of the Beast" and "The Trooper" will be available for $1.99 each.
