Google Stadia Launches Today With More Games Than Expected

Including Final Fantasy XV and Trials Rising.

Google Stadia launches today, November 19, and you can read all about it in our Stadia review-in-progress. Google recently announced the system's launch titles, along with the other games coming in 2019. It was a thin list, with only one console exclusive (Gylt), which had some potential customers concerned. Thankfully for early adopters of the new machine, the launch lineup has been expanded, with many titles that were due at some point in 2019 now arriving on day one, including NBA 2K20.

The news was announced by Google vice president Phil Harrison, who thanked the developers and publishers who worked to prepare their games for the system's release. It's unclear what prompted the increase, but it comes in the wake of some complaints about the launch lineup, as well as a significant expansion of the library for Microsoft's xCloud test. Additionally, Samurai Shodown has joined the list of games that will be available for free to those with Stadia Pro memberships.

These are the 12 games initially announced for the Stadia launch, which are still coming on day one:

And now, here are ten more games that will now release on November 19 alongside the new system:

Borderlands 3, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2 and Darksiders Genesis are also due before the end of the year. Darksiders Genesis will release on December 5, the same day as the PC version, making it a non-PC exclusive to Stadia for about three months; it launches for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 14, 2020.

To find out more about what to expect from Google Stadia's impending launch, be sure to check out our unboxing of the new system. We know that it'll launch with several missing features that will be added over time.

Tile should read "Google Adding More Games that Gamers Expected" as in gamers expected to be impressed & now they are backtracking. Love Google, but Stadia is a super hard pass for me as I have enough games that I only want to play on my big TV. Man, I cannot wait for fall 2020 & the new systems!

I’m real curious about how games like Trials will perform. Input and timing are crucial in that game.

My biggest worry about the stadia is Google buying up exclusives rather than paying for games to be developed, So the other console's lose games rather than more games being produced and if that happens I'l start to hate the system rather than buy into it.

@Runeweaver: If Orcs must die 3 and an indie game are the best they can do then stadia will never take off. I doubt Google would front the cash to get a big exclusive from a 3rd party too.

This reminds me of the Wii U launch (too many old ports) at least Nintendo had more than one exclusive.

I pass unless they can bring the good games to the plate and as well if they shut down that I can somehow still play my games even if local(do not see that happening.)

who cares about Google Stadia and its absolutely limited amounts of games? Guys. services are out since ages that allow you a whole PC in the cloud at your disposal. Shadow Gaming or Parsec Gaming are the best. just go and check them out. it's all a big joke.

@cr8ive: im not as i actually like to own my games even if they are digital ie steam/gog/xbox or playstation etc. whereas with stadia sure you can "own" the game but when the servers are shutdown in a year or two did you really "own" that game.

@cr8ive: Google has too long a history of abandoning projects for me to bother with it. Especially since I highly doubt you're going to get any kind of refund or offline version when/if the service gets shut down.
