Google Play Games Coming To Windows PCs In 2022

Google's mobile phone games will soon be playable on PCs.

Google is expanding its mobile gaming capabilities to an all-new arena as the company announced Google Play Games will be coming to Windows PCs in 2022.

The new standalone Google Play Games launcher will allow players to access mobile titles on any Windows PC, using the same technology as Android phones, tablets, and Chromebooks. This means that all saves and progress can also be moved between the platforms, letting someone play a game on their phone, then come home and pick up right where they left off on their PC.

"Google Play has helped billions of people find and play their favorite games across multiple platforms, including on mobile, tablets and ChromeOS," Games on Google Play product director Greg Hartrell said in the official release. "Starting in 2022, this Google built product brings the best of Google Play Games to more laptops and desktops, and we are thrilled to expand our platform for players to enjoy their favorite Android games even more."

Google Play Games will launch for Windows PCs in 2022. It's unknown if the entire Google Play library will be available at launch, but if so it will allow previously mobile-only titles like League of Legends: Wild Rift, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, and Marvel Future Revolution to be played on any Windows PC.
