GoldenEye 007 Looks Better Than Ever in This Unreal Engine 4 Makeover

"I have tried to get it as realistic as possible."

GoldenEye 007 is one of the most beloved and influential shooters of all time. Now, the 1997 Nintendo 64 game (at least a part of it) looks better than ever thanks to a fan-produced Unreal Engine 4 makeover.

Sheffield Hallam University student and aspiring environment artist Jude Wilson recently recreated a small section of the game, The Facility, for an assignment in his Master's degree program. It's a lovely piece of work, showing off the famous level--undoubtedly one of the game's best--with a modern graphics touch.

"I have combined the N64's original layout with the films' look and feel using Unreal Engine 4," Wilson wrote in the video's description (via NeoGAF). "I have tried to get it as realistic as possible, using the films interiors, props, and lighting, but remaining true to the original game at the same time."

Wilson points out that all of the assets shown in the recreation he made from scratch using 3DS Max, Marmoset Toolbag 2, Photoshop, nDo2, Substance Designer, and the aforementioned Unreal Engine 4.
