GOG's Halloween Sale Is Live Now With Over 850 PC Game Discounts

Halloween 2020 is nearly upon us, and though COVID-19 means the holiday is sure to look different than usual, there's no reason you can't celebrate it by enjoying some great horror games indoors. GOG has kicked off its annual Halloween Sale with steep discounts on over 850 PC games, which vary from genuinely frightful games like Outlast 2 to those with dark themes and chilling atmospheres like A Plague Tale: Innocence and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Of course, you'll find non-horror games mixed in with some nice discounts as well.

The sale includes some 2020 releases, including Othercide, a brilliant turn-based tactics game (and one of my personal favorites of the year so far). Down to $24.49 from $35, Othercide has you wield an army of Daughters against a horde of nightmare creatures, using their unique abilities to make strategic moves within the game's dynamic timeline battle system. It received an 8/10 in GameSpot's Othercide review for its rich, detailed lore; satisfying combat; and striking gothic visuals, though some bugs hold the game back.

Though the Amnesia franchise has finally gotten a new entry with last week's release of Amnesia: Rebirth, you can save on the first two games in the series. Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs are just 2 bucks each right now, and if you never played these horror classics (especially The Dark Descent), they're worth grabbing, especially if you're playing Rebirth and find yourself wanting more.

You can also nab Control's new Ultimate edition, which contains the game's DLC, for $28 and A Plague Tale: Innocence, an action-adventure game set in France during the bubonic plague, for $15.29.
