Responding to feedback, the PS5 and PC game will introduce matchmaking through a future update.

The PlayStation 5 launch title Godfall is getting a big update in the future that will introduce matchmaking to the game for the first time. Writing on Twitter, the studio said it heard loud and clear from fans that they want matchmaking--and now it's coming.

"As we continue to monitor and implement changes based on your feedback, one thing was very clear.... We are excited to announce that we are working toward implementing matchmaking into Godfall," the studio said.

More details will be announced "over the coming months," the studio explained. Currently, the only way to play online co-op is through directly inviting friends to matches over PSN or the Epic Games client.

In other news, it's possible that Godfall could release on other platforms soon. The fine print of a trailer stated that Godfall will be a PS5 console exclusive until May 12, 2021, so it's possible the title could release on other platforms at some point. The game is also available on PC.

Godfall was developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox, which was recently acquired by Embracer Group in a deal valued at more than $1 billion.

GameSpot's Godfall review scored it a 5/10. "This is a shallow game bolstered by decent combat that struggles to bear the weight of an entire game," reviewer Richard Wakeling said.
