Godfall Launch Day Buying Guide: Where To Purchase

The PS5 launched today alongside a few console exclusives, including Godfall--the loot-focused action-RPG that developer Counterplay Games calls a "looter-slasher." You can still order multiple editions of Godfall on PS5 and PC. PS5 editions of Godfall start at $70, while the PC version is only $60.

Godfall takes place in a high fantasy world dubbed Aperion and places you in the role of a Valorian Knight. In fact, you're the last Valorian Knight, and you must make your way through the five realms (Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Spirit) to save your crumbling, post-apocalyptic home. Your main foe is the mad god Macros, who you will square off against after you slash your way through droves of underlings and challenging boss fights.

A third-person action-RPG, Godfall has skill-based melee combat. There are five classes of weapons, each with their own playstyles and customizations as well as 12 unique Valorplates, armor sets that have different buffs and abilities. Valorplates essentially act as classes as some fare better depending on the mission. With a heavy emphasis on both leveling and loot, Godfall will join the growing number of AAA games that focus on tinkering with your build as you find new gear. Each of Godfall's story missions will have mid- and end-bosses, and there will also be various side missions to complete throughout. Godfall can be played solo or with up two friends in online co-op.

Godfall Standard Edition

Godfall's standard edition is available on PC ($60) and PS5 ($70). The PC version can be ordered at the Epic Games Store, while the PS5 standard edition is available at Amazon and Best Buy.

Godfall's Deluxe edition comes with the base game and the first expansion. It's available for PS5 ($80) and PC ($70).

Godfall Ascended Edition

$90-$100

Godfall's Ascended edition is the priciest of the bunch at $90 for PC and $100 for PS5. It comes with all of the Deluxe edition content as well as the following in-game bonuses:
