God of War PSP dev working on 'new AAA IP' for consoles
Ready at Dawn job listing reveals studio is working on third-person action adventure for non-portable platforms.
Ready at Dawn has several claims to fame. The Orange County, California-based studio developed the Wii version of Capcom's cult classic Okami, as well as the PSP favorite Daxter. However, its biggest titles were the two PSP entries in the God of War series: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta.
While Ready at Dawn made its bones in the portable space, the company is now working on a title for non-handheld platforms. A job listing on the studio's site asks applicants, "Are you ready to work on an exciting new AAA IP for the home console?" Which console was not specified, but the game was indentified as a "third-person action-adventure."
Ready at Dawn was founded in early 2004 by former senior members of both Naughty Dog and Blizzard Entertainment. The cofounders of the studio included former Naughty Dog senior programmer Didier Malenfant, former Blizzard senior software engineer Andrea Pessino, and former Blizzard senior artist Ru Weerasuriya.
