Though Sony has yet to offer any official word concerning a follow-up to 2010's God of War III, the evidence of a new entry in the franchise is mounting.

Word of God of War IV keeps slipping, but Sony isn't budging on its rumor and speculation line.

As spotted by Siliconera, the website of multimedia composer Timothy Williams notes that he is working on God of War IV. Williams is no stranger to action properties, as his list of credited works includes contributions to the 2011 films The Green Hornet and Sucker Punch, as well as the video games DOTA 2, Army of Two: The 40th Day, and Rise of the Argonauts.

When reached for comment, a Sony representative told GameSpot, "We do not comment on rumors or speculation about our products."

While the next God of War hasn't been officially announced, some possible details have surfaced. Last March, job listings at series developer Sony Computer Entertainment America Santa Monica called for online programmers to "join the God of War team" and create leaderboards and matching systems for a future title.

As for a release window for God of War IV, earlier reports peg the not-yet-official title as making its debut sometime during mid-2012. For more on the most recent new console release in the franchise, check out GameSpot's review of God of War III.
