G.O.D. Gathers Up Shadowbane

Wolfpack Studio's upcoming massively multiplayer RPG finds a publisher.

This week is turning out to be quite eventful for the folks over at Gathering of Developers. This week it announced its acquisition by Take-Two and the launch of a mass-market publishing label, and today it announced it would publish Wolfpack Studio's upcoming massively multiplayer RPG, Shadowbane.

On track to become available in summer 2001, Shadowbane combines cooperative strategy elements with role playing. Disease and starvation have wracked the land and created deep political unrest, so players must band together in guilds to carve out contested territories. Guild wars, internal politics, large-scale player armies, and siege warfare all promise to bring an epic feel to Shadowbane.

"The potential of having the players control and dictate the internal politics of this virtual world is enormous, not to mention that the emphasis on guilds, teamwork, and insanely large group interaction are definitely elements for success," explains Harry Miller, president of Gathering of Developers.
