Gina Carano's Cara Dune Toys For Star Wars: The Mandalorian Have Been Canceled, Report Says

Hasbro will no longer produce Cara Dune toys, one toy company says.

Hasbro will apparently not make more Cara Dune figures after actress Gina Carano parted ways with Disney and Star Wars: The Mandalorian following her controversial social media posts.

Hasbro hasn't made an official announcement, but the retailer BigBadToyStore told The Hollywood Reporter that it had to cancel preorders for Cara Dune figures because "no more would be made." The store told THR that the Cara Dune toys were very popular.

"The Star Wars Black Cara Dune figure was released in 2020 and sold out not long after the inventory was received," a spokesperson for BigBadToyStore told THR. "Hasbro planned for another production run and we were accepting preorders from that production run. Due to recent events, Hasbro was no longer approved to produce any more of this figure."

Disney's statement about Carano said, "Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

Cara Dune is a popular character on The Mandalorian and there were plans for a standalone TV show focusing on her character, THR said.

In the wake of her exit from Star Wars, Carano reached a deal with Ben Shapiro's The Daily Wire to create a movie. In a statement, she said, "I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them."
