Ghostbusters: Afterlife's Spoiler-Filled Final Trailer Features Familiar Voices

Old friends and enemies alike show up in the final trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

After a very long wait, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is nearly here--not even two weeks out. And that means it's time for a final trailer. It hit today, and you'll, and you'll want to stop reading right here if you're worried about spoilers for the movie because this trailer leaves no stone unturned when it comes to story reveals.

This trailer seemingly confirms everything fans could be wondering about based on past trailers. We'd seen glimpses of the series' iconic Terror Dogs--that's really what they're called--in the previous trailer, but we get a clean look at them chasing Paul Rudd's character, Chad Grooberson, through a big-box store just moments after he was watching mini-Stay Puft marshmallow men torture each other.

Imagery strongly suggestive of the first film's villain Gozer plays as Dan Akyroyd reads from Revelations. What looks to be a redesigned Slimer (or some other Non-Terminal Repeating Phantasm/Class 5 Full Roaming Vapor) shows up. Finally, hands raise Positron Colliders, faces off-screen, while Bill Murray's voice asked if someone--probably Gozer--has missed us.

Yeah, all the parts you loved about 1984's Ghostbusters are here in 2021's Ghostbusters: Afterlife. While the primary cast is new to the series, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is confirmed to feature appearances not just from Dan Akyroyd, Bill Murray, and Annie Potts, who have all now appeared in trailers, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver are returning as well. The core cast includes Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd.

In our review of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, our own Chris Hayner said that the film "strike[s] a balance between action, family-friendly levels of horror, and a comedic tone that doesn't overpower the story," but notes that the film's weaker moments "come from the movie's unending devotion to the original films." Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theaters on November 19, 2021.
