Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint had a rough launch, but Ubisoft has been adding new content to the game at a steady pace. Along with a free weekend event until July 19, a recent update has finally added AI teammates to the game, which was promised all the way back at E3 2019.

As revealed in a detailed blog post, Breakpoint allows you to customize the appearance of your AI squad, with gear only providing a cosmetic difference. You also have full control over the weapons your squadmates carry, which can make a significant difference during protracted engagements. You can also Sync Shot with your AI teammates along with your usual drones. These teammates can even revive you if you're downed, though they only get one shot at it unless you're a Field Medic.

In addition to AI teammates, Breakpoint has also added a new live event to the game, challenging players to assist the Outcast faction in repelling an attack on their camps. Completing all nine faction missions will earn players exclusive rewards. There have also been some recent reports of crashes caused by the game's latest update, and Ubisoft says it's investigating.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Free Weekend

Breakpoint is currently in the middle of a free weekend event that goes until July 19. This event applies to the Xbox One, PC, and PS4 versions of the game. During this event, Breakpoint is also on sale for $15 (a 75% discount) on all platforms, and you can keep any progress you make once you buy the game. If you've been looking to try it out, there's never been a better time to jump in.
