Bandai announced today that Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, the PlayStation 2 title based on the animated television series, has gone gold and will be available for retail purchase on November 8. Players will assume the role of the world's most recognizable cybernetic policewoman, "Major" Mokoto Kusanagi, as she runs, jumps, and blasts her way through city streets while bringing justice to the postapocalyptic world of artist Masamune Shirow.

The television series of the same name will premiere on the Cartoon Network on November 6, and volumes one and two of the DVD series are available in stores now (also from Bandai).

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is rated "M" for Mature and will carry an MSRP of $49.99.
