Many developers, publishers, and storefronts are giving away games as part of an effort to help those stuck in isolation at home, and now Humble Bundle's Charity Sale is offering free Steam copies of Aegis Defenders, a side-scrolling action platformer with bouts of tower-defense strategy. The giveaway is available until May 17, so if you're interested in trying out a new game for free, this is an excellent opportunity.

All you need to do is head over to Humble Bundle, log in or create a free account, and then click the "Get the Game" button. You'll be sent an email, though you can just click the following "Preview Email" button to access your Steam code. From that point, all you need to do is activate the code in your Steam account, and you're good to go.

Now Playing: Aegis Defenders Gameplay - 1st Stage

Aegis Defenders holds a "Mostly Positive" user rating on Steam and a 76/100 on GameSpot sister site Metacritic. It's also available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, though GameSpot's 4/10 Aegis Defenders review lamented the nonsensical plot, messy difficulty curve, and numerous bugs and technical issues of the Switch version.

There are a lot of free games you can claim right now, including titles on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Grand Theft Auto 5 is free at the Epic Games Store, while Ubisoft is giving away both Assassin's Creed: Discovery Tour games.
