Get Free Battlefield 5 DLC Items By Playing Battlefield 1, Here's How
EA's "Road to Battlefield V" campaign has begun.
Just as it did in the lead-up to Battlefield 1, EA is holding a special event preceding the launch of Battlefield V this October. The "Road to Battlefield V" event, as it's called, will see EA give away DLC for Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4, including more than 20 multiplayer maps.
Every expansion for Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4 is going free in the weeks leading up to Battlefield V's launch in October. This promotion actually already started, as EA previously gave away Battlefield 1's In the Name of the Tsar and Turning Tides expansions. Later this month, EA will give away the Battlefield 1 Apocalypse expansion at no cost.
If you missed out on the In the Name of the Tsar and Turning Tides freebie opportunities, EA teased that "you may still get the chance to claim them" in the future.
In addition to the free expansions, EA has launched a new in-game menu in Battlefield 1 that shows daily tasks you can complete to earn rewards like weapon and equipment skins, XP boosts, and more. These rewards pay out on a weekly basis, but if you missed a week you can still go back and earn the previous rewards.
Intriguingly, the weekly rewards in Battlefield 1 will also include cosmetic items for Battlefield V that unlock when that game launches. As announced previously, Battlefield V lets you customise your soldier with "soldier sets" that include things like camo patterns, head gear, face paint, and weapon skins. Six of the soldier sets are available in Battlefield V's Deluxe Edition, but two of them can only be acquired through the Road to Battlefield V event.
Battlefield V launches on October 19, but EA/Origin Access subscribers can start playing on October 11 (which is one day before Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches). Deluxe Edition owners can start playing on October 16, before the Standard Edition unlocks on October 19.
