Microsoft Office 2021 Is Only $30 This Week, PC And Mac Editions Available

Both the PC and Mac versions of Microsoft Office 2021 are available for this low price through October 15.

If you need a productivity suite, StackCommerce has brought back one of its most popular deals ahead of Prime Day Round 2. You can get a lifetime license to Microsoft Office 2021 for only $30 . Both PC and Mac versions of Office 2021 are available at this low price. PC users will get Office 2021 Professional, whereas the Mac deal applies to the 2021 Home & Business edition. Alternatively, if you need Office and Windows 11, you can snag this bundle for $60.

These days, Microsoft Office is most commonly sold as a Microsoft 365 subscription. You'd actually spend more for one-year access to Microsoft 365 than you would by picking up Microsoft Office 2021. The best part is that once you redeem the key, the license is yours to keep.

Here’s a look at the software included with Microsoft Office 2021 Professional for Windows:

  • Microsoft Office Word
  • Microsoft Office Excel
  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Office Outlook
  • Microsoft Office Teams
  • Microsoft Office OneNote
  • Microsoft Office Publisher
  • Microsoft Office Access
  • Skype for Business

The Mac version comes with everything listed above except for Publisher, Access, and Skype for Business. You also only get the "basic" version of Teams with the Mac license. Considering that most users are buying Microsoft Office for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, these concessions probably aren't dealbreakers.

It's worth noting that purchasing Microsoft Office 2021 means that you won't receive regular software updates that are offered to Microsoft 365 subscribers. Again, this likely isn't a huge deal for most people, as this is a bargain for even just Microsoft Word--and the 2021 version of Office is still excellent today.

Be sure to redeem your license within 30 days of purchase or return an unredeemed code for store credit.

Life time licenses, or as they used to be called, licenses a few years back.

I haven't used Microsoft Office since college. Though if my nephew needed to use Word or Power Point, I would just pay $9.

So far, with every product I have ever purchased, 'lifetime' does not mean lifetime.

This sounds very strange to me. Is it the wording of 'lifetime'? Are we only getting old software that will not work on new devices in a few updates?

I absolutely don't trust Gamespot after willfully, knowingly giving incorrect information to consumers for no reason.

I'll just avoid this unless someone I trust steers me towards it.

@gatsbythepig: It is legitimate if a little less than typical. What happens, I think, is that outfits purchase bulk license from Microsoft, and then go belly up. Then another outfit that resells license buys them up and sells them - some are probably more shady than others. In this case, it is the *current* version of Office, and installs just fine. The download comes from the Microsoft site, and the key comes from Gamespot's marketing partner.

@gatsbythepig: Probably needed to differentiate itself from Office 365. It probably would get the same updates any Windows of Office product gets to improve stability and patch out exploits, but probably not getting a bunch of new features.

Honestly, I can see why MS wants to do this. Office 365 is probably great for enterprise users, but for the end user, you're just as well to use Libreoffice, Onlyoffice or Google Drive. The end-user Office isn't the main product anymore.

@gatsbythepig: I bought it & it works for a few months now. Don't know what lifetime means or what happens when you change PC's though?

@just1mohr: You just need the license key you installed it on your current PC. I expect that so long as it has been a reasonable amount of time, the reinstall will work with that key without fuss - but also probably best if you can uninstall the old one first (which may not always be possible - e.g. if the old PC died).

@cube1us: Ah ty, ty, a shame.

I work for edu dept of a tri city hospital, that provides us any software. But I then bring my work from the hospital to my families printing company. I often, bring my work from job to job to home to job again. But I rarely need to use office, I mostly stick to adobe Indesign, PS, acrobat, etc., with a rare but necessary need for Office on the occasion.

I wish my software purchase could follow me around. For one the cost, and second, I do not want one job knowing what I am working on, or the other. And as infrequent the need, I'm trapped when I do rarely need; just because that is the only software the client knows. Like say a 'ms publisher' document they need editing.

Oh, well, they get you every way.

Leave it to GameSpot to repost a month old page and not change it to reflect the current deal. This is $49.99 today, not $30. No codes can be used to lower it, either.

Why is Gamespot not only promoting this but misinforming its readers? Shame on you, is this the depth this website has sunk to?

I just purchased it and after the purchase saw it was "Office 2021 professional plus". The plus bit implies that this is a volume license which means that they shouldn't be selling it, and rest assured Microsoft WILL be disabling it in the future as they always do with resold volume licenses.

@yb202: I have bought these kinds of license before for non-critical software, and have found that if MicroSquish de-activates the key, you just contact the seller and they issue a new key.

I got this and it works great. Solid and legit deal. Zero regrets. It links to your Microsoft account just like windows registration does, so wherever you go windows and office go with you.
