Get A Free Nintendo Switch SD Card When You Buy 2 Switch Games

Nintendo is offering a nice freebie when you purchase two select digital Switch games this week.

In recent months, Nintendo has partnered with various retailers to offer a free Nintendo Switch 128GB memory card with the purchase of two select digital games. Now, Nintendo has once again linked up with Walmart to offer the deal until August 12, and a nice selection of games are available. The list includes some of the Switch's most popular exclusives as well as some stellar third-party titles.

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • Splatoon 2
  • New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
  • Arms
  • Fire Emblem Warriors
  • Hyrule Warriors
  • Mario Tennis Aces
  • Yoshi's Crafted World
  • Super Mario Party
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2
  • Kirby Star Allies

Every game in the promotion is listed at $60, but considering these games are rarely on sale anyway, the free microSD card is a nice perk. (As a point of reference, the same memory card is on sale for $27.88 at Amazon, usually listed at $35.) You'll receive your digital game codes via email so you can redeem in the Eshop and start playing right away. The memory card will be shipped separately with free two-day delivery.

Of course, there are plenty of other game deals available directly on the Eshop. Right now, the Switch is celebrating QuakeCon with discounts on Bethesda games, including Doom (2016) and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for $30 each.

I have most of those games, and only ant one. But not a must have. I'd rather just buy the SD card and save money. of course, I already have a 128GB, so no point in that even.

128GB? Instead of swapping game cards you'll just be swapping SD cards. You need something bigger than that! I would rather just get a discount on the two games! Digital is supposed to be cheaper to produce/distribute anyway, hell it should already be discounted.

@girlusocrazy: Oh dear. You didn't seriously buy that lie of We need to charge so much to cover production/distribution costs, did you? Heck, they stopped with instruction manuals, and still the price remains as was. It was never about costs they endured.

@atherworld: For the switch it's even more significant, there's proprietary cartridges to manufacture. Size is enough of a consideration that they'll make you download half the game on many releases. Many indies cost much more for their release on the shelf as well. It's been discussed in the games press already. Sorry to break it to you.

God I hear that. I keep wondering how many sales Nintendo misses out on because they refuse to price their games reasonably. I'd totally buy yoshi, and kirby, and donkey kong... but not for 180$ - That's obscene. Especially considering how old that DK game is.
