Genshin Impact Labyrinth Warriors Event: How To Obtain Xinyan For Free

Genshin Impact's latest event offers players a chance to earn a bunch of Primogems, character ascension materials, and even a character for free. The Labyrinth Warriors event features the four-star pyro character Xinyan, who can also be obtained by completing certain requirements during the event. The claymore-wielding character is Liyue's resident rock-n-roll musician and is a great pick-up, especially for free.

How to start the event

The Labyrinth Warriors event can be started by talking to Katheryne at the Adventurer's Guild, as long as you are Adventure Level 30 and have completed Archon Quest Chapter 3, Act 3. From there head to the Tenryou Commission in Inazuma where you will meet with Xinyan. From there you will speak with Kujou Sara inside the commission who will send you to investigate a mysterious new domain west of the Grand Narukami Shrine. There you will enter the Mystic Onmyou Chamber, the special domain for the event.

The Trial

The event contains multiple trials, all of which are recommended for a party level of about 70. These trials have a few special mechanics for you to know about. First, you will get to pick three Shikifudas at the start, these all have special abilities which have a limited number of uses, like restoring HP to all party members or setting up a flame barrier inside of which you deal extra damage.

There are also charms, which are awarded after combat encounters that provide buffs, like additional damage for certain elemental types. When selecting charms you will occasionally obtain a cursed seal, which provides a debuff, like taking an additional 20% damage. It's important to note that you will not be able to eat food during the trial, so it will be important to bring a healer with you.

The first level, "The Ominous Demesne," has two floors, each with about 10 rooms to complete. The floors are made up of combat rooms, charm rooms, treasure rooms, healing rooms, and boss rooms, randomly put together. There are five levels in total, with each one unlocking every three days during the event. You earn two currencies from completing the trials, Aged Tokens and Damaged Replicas. Damaged Replicas can be used to reroll charms within a trial or to upgrade charm magic outside of the trials, which can increase your chances of rolling a high-grade charm or decrease the odds of encountering a Cursed Seal. Aged Tokens are used in the event shop and to obtain Xinyan.

How to unlock Xinyan

There are two things you will need to do in order to obtain "Blazing Riff" Xinyan, a four-star pyro character. You will need to complete the "Path of the Taishou" quest, which is the fourth quest that's part of the "Labyrinth Warriors" path. While this quest is not accessible yet, it is presumably tied to completing all of the trials. The second thing you will need is to accumulate 4,000 Aged Tokens by completing the trials. Xinyan only costs 1,000 Aged Tokens to purchase, but she is locked until you accumulate 4,000. I obtained 1,460 Aged Tokens from my first run through "The Ominous Demesne," but you can only obtain 1,800 Aged Tokens total from the first level.
