GeForce 2 MX Coming Soon

Nvidia says that its new mainstream 3D line should hit retail in seven to ten days.

When Nvidia introduced the GeForce 2 MX two weeks ago, 3D card maker Hercules announced it would have a 32MB board based on the new chip by July 10. That date has come and gone, and it is unclear how far away the cards are from retail. Derek Perez, public relations manager for Nvidia, says that the GeForce 2 MX is "about seven to ten days away."

The GeForce 2 MX is Nvidia's new value-priced 3D graphics chip that performs just ahead of GeForce 256 SDR cards at a lower price. When the third-party board makers' products ship later this month, suggested retail prices are expected to start at around US$120.
