Microsoft is kicking off its monthlong Match Made in Hell promotion for the upcoming Xbox 360 shooter Gears of War with a chainsaw-themed double bill of sneak peeks.

On October 4, four AMC theaters--one each in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles--will host prerelease screenings of New Line Cinema's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. After the film, members of the audience will get the chance to try out Gears of War's infamous chainsaw bayonets on the big screen. Those wishing to attend one of the screenings can register online at the movie's Web site.

The Match Made in Hell promotion will continue with two more events in October: Fright Night and Hollywood Cemetery. Gears of War is rated M for Mature and will retail for $59.99 when it is released November 7. The game's Emergence Day was originally announced as November 12, but Microsoft has since slid the date up.
