EL-P and Killer Mike from the hip-hop group Run the Jewels are now available in Gears of War 4 as playable characters. They not only lent their likenesses to the game, but they also did voicework.

According to Microsoft, "The brotherhood that Killer Mike and El-P represent as Run the Jewels perfectly matches the soul of Gears, which at its core is about that brotherhood and never fighting alone." Check out the video below to see El-P and Killer Mike seeing their avatars for the first time.

Additionally, 18 new weapon skins, emblems, and bounties are available in Gears of War 4 today as part of the Run the Jewels Air Drop DLC. You can use the characters and items in Gears of War 4's multiplayer and Horde models.

On top of the new playable characters and items, Gears of War 4 adds its first post-launch DLC maps today in the form of updated versions of Checkout and Drydock from Gears of War 3. As announced previously, people who own the game's season pass can play these maps now, while everyone else gets them for free on November 8.

Run the Jewels are heading out for a big US tour, starting in January, with stops all across the country. Check out the poster below to find out if they're coming to a city near you.
