Today during Microsoft's E3 2016 briefing, the company announced a special edition version of the Xbox One Elite controller themed around Gears of War 4.

"Crush the competition with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller," Microsoft said. The controller features all all of the swappable components from the standard edition Elite controller, while it also comes with an "exclusive" in-game item, as well as three Gear Packs.

The video says the controller is available to preorder now, though pricing was not mentioned. The existing Xbox One Elite controller, which faced some supply issues, sells for $150.

Also during Microsoft's E3 2010 briefing today, Gears of War 4 developer The Coalition confirmed that a Horde Mode 3.0 would be included in the game. Gears of War 4 launches on October 11 for Xbox One and PC as part of Microsoft's new Play Anywhere initiative.
