Eidos Interactive has released information about the story featured in its upcoming strategy game Gangsters 2: Vendetta. The game takes place in the state of Temperance during the 1920s. The hero of the game is Joey Bane, an army veteran, whose father is killed while working part-time for the mob. The game follows Bane on his quest for revenge. He initially sets out to track down and kill Cain Langham, a local crime boss, who Banes believes is responsible for the death of his father. In the course of his investigation, though, Bane finds that Langham was just one part of a large crime syndicate that spans the entire state. The head of the organization is Frankie Constantine, a big-time mobster based in the state capitol, New Temperance.
Through his efforts to avenge his father's death, Bane becomes more and more involved in the life of organized crime. He must build a team of gangsters specialized in skills like assassination, persuasion, racketeering, and explosives. To pay for the people, vehicles, and weapons he needs in his quest for revenge, Bane must resort to running rackets himself.
