GameStop Almost Sells Through Its Xbox One X Supply In First 24 Hours

Here in Europe main (NOT UK & I) we haven't got any yet on the shelvs, only people preordered received theirs and through source of stores not many preordered. Switch and PS4 are still selling strong. But then again, MS were never interested in Europe and I don't think Europe is that much interested in their products.

here in the UK stock did sell out on the day but deliveries brought more stock the day after and the day after that. its selling out but its selling out based on the small number of units being allocated. on the other hand the nintendo switch has not been in stock in any country in the Uk since the release of mario oddysee. games on the X look fantastic ( just a pity that much hyped 4K blu ray drive is garbage .... best just sub amazon prime which is now available in 4k via an exclusive app obtained from the microsoft app store ) the switch is just proof that gamers dont always need pc like true 4k they just need a plumber who can possess frogs and run around in his boxers chasing t-rex;s.

It was pretty much a given that this was going to sell extremely well. The massive amount of pre orders that sold was all the proof one really needed to know this was going to sell extremely well. Personally, I was so impressed with the console that I wound up ordering a 2nd one. I was initially planning on taking my XBox One S up to my cottage and just having an Xbox One X at home, but after seeing just how amazing the Xbox One X really was, I decided to just sell my Xbox One S on eBay and purchased a 2nd Xbox One X for my cottage. Were up at our cottage a lot during the winter and the idea of going from an Xbox One X to an Xbox One S just didn't sound appealing to me at all.

Not surprised, great system loving it. The Scorpio box is pretty big, bigger than the X1S's I would say, that's why they cannot carry too much stock.....just kidding...kind of.

The walmart down the street from my house has at least 8 systems and about 20 switches. I think more people are holding off until Christmas.

I really love those vague marketing statements. "Almost Sells Through Its Xbox One X Supply In First 24 Hours" That means nothing if we don't know how much units they have in the lauch day. But to be honest this kind of vague statement really convince people if they are unsure.

What's scary to me is how Nintendo has Stockholm-syndromed gamers to want there to be no reasonable way to get their gaming hardware XD. It's not a good thing when no one can buy your console! That is bad! "Nearly" sold out is about the best place you can be. People who hear about the scarcity and are interested can go out and buy one, but you're not sitting on a ton of expensive stock either. Being sold out is great marketing, but it's bad business.

People who are suggesting this means that PS4 Pro or One X didn't do well.. this is the dumbest metric. It tells you NOTHING about demand - only that the company in question has no idea how to tailor production to demand (*cough* Nintendo solve your damn problems)

I would say that is the only detail. It's the one that ties all the other details together. There is really no way to measure how successful the launch is without it.

I had doubts that it would do well at gamestop, but I guess people ate their pride and went to gamestop.

Yeah this upgrade is so so wanted lol.

Couldn't even sell out in home territory. I've only seen one Xbox box in UK stores,guess this is why m$ only released limited stock here.

And now m$ are "suggesting" you spend more of your money on hard drive as the one they've given you is too small.

That extra £100 means building a PC equivalent is even easier.

And after playing on one, the one thing everyone whoes played it has said "where are the games" and not year old games with added gloss. New games which max out the x.

I hear this a lot.

Was in a store today and asked the cashier what the biggest seller has been recently, and she said the X1X.

I then asked how big was the allotment, which she replied 12.

I then laughed.

There goes the many opinion pieces I read daily that say "who will buy the XBX?" or "The XBX is a tough sell".......guess lots of people are buying it and it isn't a tough sell at all.

Of 500 pre-orders maybe 10-12% cancel their order over time.

And because those consoles already are ordered + there are ordering limits, there will always be some excess hardware in most stores.

Sadly for many in my country, stores does a horrible job announcing when they are sold out or if there is any stock left.

One of the two biggest electronic chains didnt even advertise them on release week.

Calling them to reserve one doesnt work in many stores, because they are put in a "collect from store"-shelf and people dont give a shit if they are reserved or not and pick them from there... Because they dont ask for any I.d.

You simply have to go there and ask, hoping there are some left.
