GameSpot Lords of EverQuest beta contest this week

Starting this Thursday, GameSpot Complete members can sign up for a chance to win one of 50 spots in the upcoming beta test for Sony Online's real-time strategy game.

On Thursday, August 21, we will open up a new beta contest for GameSpot Complete members. This contest will give members the chance to win one of 50 spots in the exclusive first round of beta testing for Sony Online's upcoming real-time strategy game Lords of EverQuest. The first round of beta testing is scheduled to begin in early September, and it will last a couple of weeks. First-round testers are automatically enrolled for the later rounds of testing, which will be opened up to more and more people.

Sign-ups for the contest will run from August 21 to August 25. Those who are interested in entering the GameSpot contest must first register for the Lords of EverQuest beta at Sony's Web site. You'll then sign up at GameSpot's contest page, giving us your GameSpot Complete login name and the Sony Station name you used to register at Sony's Web site. Winners will be chosen randomly and announced on Tuesday, August 26.

Lords of EverQuest is an upcoming real-time strategy game from Sony Online Entertainment. The game is set in the EverQuest universe, and all its units and spells are drawn from EverQuest lore. Players will command their armies with powerful lord units, and every unit in the game will gain experience in battle. For more details, check out our previous coverage.
