Interact Accessories announced on Wednesday that the GameShark CDX has been released. The latest edition of the GameShark bypasses the newest PlayStation console lockout by Sony (the 9000 series, which have no parallel ports). Previously, the GameShark bypassed territorial lockouts of imports by using the PlayStation parallel port. But after the port was removed by Sony, Interact had to figure out a way to use the memory card and the CD-ROM drive.

"Gamers have come to expect the immeasurable value of hacking and inputting from the GameShark line of products. The CDX offers a solution for all new PlayStation 9000 series owners while still offering compatibility with older versions," said Todd Hays, president of InterAct Accessories.

According to Interact, the new GameShark DCX offers all the functions and ease of use as the previous versions. Gamers can pick up the new GameShark CDX at their local retailer for about US$49.99.
