Gameloft announces Q4 gains
French mobile developer and publisher charts solid growth for the year; sees sales of $11.8 million in the most recent quarter.
Gameloft has announced total sales of 9.1 million euros ($11.8 million) for the final calendar quarter of 2004. This represents a gain of 111 percent against the same quarter a year ago. Gameloft's annual revenue (its fiscal year ended December 31, 2004) was slightly more than 23 million euros ($29.9 million)--up 128 percent from 2003's figure.
Gameloft attributes its growth to the release of branded content across several genres, including Vans Skate and Slam, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, and Vijay Singh Pro Golf 2005.
According to Gameloft, sales of these titles were facilitated by its extensive distribution chain, which covers "more than 120 telecom operators and 150 aggregators throughout 65 countries, [and] is the largest in the wireless gaming industry."
