Game Live on Xbox goes back to school

Hands-on demos of Xbox games hit 25 college campuses over two months of touring.

The Salukis of Southern Illinois University are probably icing their paws down today. That's because their campus was the first visited by the Game Live on Xbox tour. The nomadic event brings some of the top Xbox games to campuses all across the country, offering students the chance to stop working the noodle and give their thumbs a workout.

Several publishers will showcase some of their games, both currently available and upcoming, to a prime demographic. Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, the US Army, Majesco, Midway, 2K Games, NovaLogic, and Capcom are all on board, giving college student a chance to get hands-on with their games.

Game Live on Xbox will also stop at Illinois State, West Virginia State, the University of Louisville, Syracuse, Penn State, Temple, Wake Forest, the University of Central Florida, Kansas State, Michigan, Texas, and Arizona State.

The tour, which is free of charge, will also feature Mountain Dew "bars," DJs spinning tunes, and, in some cases, live music. Organizers will also arrange Halo 2 and Madden NFL 06 tournaments at stops.
