Infogrames announced today that Xtreme Sports for the Game Boy Color is shipping to stores this week. In the game, players choose from one of two characters - Guppi or her boyfriend Fin - as they take on events such as street -luge, skateboarding, in-line skating, surfing, and sky-surfing. Modes of play include practice and Xtreme island adventure. The practice mode features 15 challenges with three difficulty levels, while the adventure mode is a story-driven competition for Olympic-style medals.

"Now gamers can hit the waves, surf the sky, and ride the rails from the safety of the Game Boy Color," said Laddie Ervin, director of marketing for sports and racing titles at Infogrames. "If you can't actually be out sky-surfing or skateboarding this summer, Xtreme Sports offers gamers the next best thing."

Xtreme Sports for the Game Boy Color was developed by Wayward Technologies. It will be available at a suggested retail price of US$29.99 and will offer a battery cartridge for saving games.
