Co-op shooter coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this spring; preorder bonuses revealed.

Electronic Arts announced today that four-person co-op shooter Fuse will launch May 28 in North America, with a European release to follow May 31. Fuse is the first multiplatform title from Insomniac Games and is due out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, not PC.

EA also today revealed a series of preorder bonuses available for Fuse at select retailers. Gamers who reserve the title will receive four Hyperion Prototype Armor Skins, four Hyperion Prototype Weapon Skins, and a Quickdraw Team Perk that increases weapon damage.

The story for Fuse goes that the United States government has spent many years experimenting with a secret alien substance called fuse, which when combined with earthly materials, is used to create devastating weaponry. A rogue paramilitary organization elects to steal the fuse technology, and a task force (the player) is called in to track it down.

The game was announced during the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo, when it was known as OverStrike.

Looked way better as Overstrike. It was original and looked like something Insomniac would make. Now this looks like generic shooter # 423255.

@PSBEATSALLDEAL @Uruca Um...vanquish was published by Sega, who also recently published Aliens: CM...that game is the epitome of making a quick buck off as many idiots as possible...but yeah Vanquish is a great game....Sega is no EA for sure, but they don't always care that much about quality.

man that's a bit harsh, i understand your rage because of the number of shooter flooding this generation,but the game has its high point like the 4 player co-op and the interesting fact that leap from character is actually is a nice concept.the fuse weapons/powers looks great and in combinations with the leap function offers a certain level of strategy and variety in gameplay than just walking about & shooting mindlessly.so give the game a chance.

I never said Vanquish was a bad game. I love Vanquish and Platinum games in general. When I say the same "fate" as Vanquish, I'm talking about the poor sales numbers.

I think it would be ironic if this ended up lasting 3 games and by game 3 it ended up being a hardcore RPG.....

I've never played a strictly shooter game on the PS3 by Insomniac or otherwise, but this is one game that has caught my attention. I like the combat system of being able to control four characters, each with their unique abilities to eliminate enemies - very super hero-like (coming from a strictly fighter gamer). I'll make my decision on whether to buy it or not after I see the reviews.
