Freespace Expansion

Interplay anticipates a September release for a Descent: Freespace - The Great War expansion disc. The expansion (to be titled Descent: Freespace - Silent Threat) is being developed by the original Freespace developer, Volition Inc.

The disc will feature a new campaign, plus new weapons and four new ships. Interplay expects the disc to include some 40 levels.

Fans of the game can contribute to the expansion's development by creating their own missions using the mission editor included in the original full version of Freespace.

Interplay is currently hosting a mission design contest on its web site, winners of which will be featured on Silent Threat.
