Electronic Arts has today launched an official Web site for Freedom Fighters. The game, which is currently in development at Io Interactive, is set in an alternate reality and will see players assuming the role of a New York plumber named Christopher Stone who is attempting to rescue his brother from the Soviet forces that have invaded the US.

The Web site launched today features an overview of the game, a news section, and a number of screenshots and movie clips of the game in action. Further information on Freedom Fighters' characters, weapons, and alternate-reality depiction of New York City will be forthcoming in the near future, along with a downloads section and a Rebel's Diary feature.

Freedom Fighters is currently scheduled for release in September. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube versions of the game.
