EA Games has confirmed that Freedom: Soldiers of Liberty is now known simply as Freedom Fighters. This is the latest in a series of small name changes for the game, which was originally known as Freedom: The Battle for Liberty Island. Freedom Fighters is a third-person action game that takes place in an alternate-history version of Manhattan, where freedom fighters are waging fierce guerilla battles against invading Soviet forces.

Freedom Fighters is the third game by IO Interactive, which created the Hitman series. It's scheduled for release by EA Games later this year. For more details, check out our previous coverage of the PC, PS2, and Xbox versions of the game.
