With many eyes in the sporting world focused on football this week due to the Super Bowl, Modus Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming Maximum Football game.

Additionally, the developer confirmed more details about the title, including that it will be free-to-play and launch this spring for PC via Steam Early Access. The game is being made in Epic's Unreal Engine 5, and the trailer provides the first look at what fans can expect.

Maximum Football, which is an unlicensed game that doesn't use NFL or NCAA teams or players, includes both college and professional rule sets. It also allows players to customize many aspects of their team, including the roster, logo, jerseys, helmets, and specific pieces of equipment.

The new Maximum Football also includes a dynasty mode that allows players to become a head coach and shape their football program the way they see fit by recruiting and drafting players. The game supports online multiplayer in additional to local co-op and head-to-head.

Modus Games said players can expect new post-release content for Maximum Football after launch released "regularly" to keep things fresh.

After releasing for PC through Steam Early Access, Maximum Football will come to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

In other football video game news, EA's annual Madden NFL Super Bowl simulation predicted that the Eagles will beat the Chiefs this weekend to win the title.
