Free Steam Game Available For A Very Limited Time
Hi, I'm Abe.
Want a free game? If so, you're in luck, because for a "very limited time" Oddworld Inhabitants has dropped the price of the 1997 game Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee to zero on Steam. And this isn't a limited free trial type of thing: If you grab it while it's free, you'll own the full game forever. You can download it here.
Abe's Oddysee is a side-scrolling puzzle platformer about a factory slave who leads his people in a revolt after discovering the slavers mean to kill them. Your job is to guide your fellow Mukodons through treacherous obstacles while avoiding enemies, on your way to safety.
In GameSpot's original Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee review from back in 1997, we wrote, "Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee requires lots of thinking in solving its puzzles, which are well constructed and challenging, instead of cheap and frustrating. Abe's really is the ideal platformer, balancing its action and puzzle elements perfectly to make the game intelligent, engaging, and, best yet, fun. With about 25 to 30 hours of gameplay, there's a lot of meat for you to chew on, whatever kind it may end up being."
If you enjoy Abe's Oddysee, you may be interested in adding the other games in the series to your collection. The Oddboxx, which contains Abe's Oddysee along with the sequels and spinoffs Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee, and Stranger's Wrath, is on sale for $3/£2. Alternatively, if you wish you could play Abe's Oddysee with remastered graphics, you can buy Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Complete Edition on sale for $6/£5. It comes with some additional goodies, like the soundtracks for both the original and remastered editions, along with some DLC.
Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee will only be free until Friday, so grab it fast.
