Free Alaska DLC For Ubisoft's Steep Delayed, New Trailer Released
You'll have to wait a little while longer to book your trip to Alaska.
In explaining the delay, Ubisoft said, "Our teams are always committed to bringing the best experience possible to all players. With this in mind, we are postponing the launch of our Alaska free game update." The expansion is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
As you can see in the teaser video above, Steep's Alaska add-on introduces a variety of new wintry zones to ski through or soar around in a wingsuit. The base game features mountains in the Alps.
Steep came out in December for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It's coming to the Nintendo Switch, though a release date has not been announced.
Earlier this week, Ubisoft announced that Steep performed ahead of the company's expectations, though no specifics were provided.
GameSpot's Steep review scored it a 7/10.
"Steep is a game that's never really sure what it is, and its vagueness and lack of meaningful rewards causes it to suffer in any comparisons to the likes of SSX," reviewer Leif Johnson said. "But there's a quiet thrill to exploring the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, and snowed-in Alpine villages. It's a strangely attractive approach for all its qualifications, and there's a constant sense that Ubisoft is channeling George Mallory's famous response when asked why he wanted to scramble up Mount Everest: 'Because it's there.'"
